Question - if it is renewable energy, why does is keep having to be made?

Solar panels are getting better, but will never provide base load power, and the energy debt of solar is still about 5 - 8 years before the energy balance from manufacture tips to energy production.

Wind farms are useless at low speed or high speed. At low speed the turbines cannot spin fast enough and at high speed they are shut down to protect the bearings lest the component overheat and catch fire.

Using a closed circuit Ammonia Dissociation Reactors are the most practical solar energy, however these are beyond the scope of the consumer level and require massive investment by private power firms or a government power company.

The idea of geothermal is still in its infancy and unproven to be either reliable or viable as an ongoing power generation type.

Gas is about the best there is in terms of a Low Carbon fuel. Nuclear is truly the best solution in terms of efficiency and reliability.

Wind power is a good source of electricity but it also takes up lots of space just like solar power plants.,.;
