The Liberal Party has really done an abrupt right-hand turn (pun intended) by going with Abbott.  Abbott&#039;s a known hard line conservative war lord. Bishop is still an unfortunate part of the picture for the Liberal Party.  She is ineffective and has shown no capacity to learn from previous mistakes. Like I wrote, Bishop is no challenge for Gillard. 
 
There could be some interesting ramifications for the Liberals public warfare in Saturday&#039;s by-election double header - Higgins and Bradfield.  It will be interesting to see if Liberal voters approve of a return to a Howard-era leader from the far right of the party.
