It was father’s day and I was wandering up and down the beaches of eastern Sydney looking for Russell (Crowe), Lachie (Murdoch) or possibly Jamie (Packer) playing happy dads.

Anyone in the profession will tell you that a decent set of images of A-list celebrities enjoying family life can be worth between 5 and 10 thousand dollars in the tabloids these days, which is nice easy work if you find yourself in the right place at the right time.

However as the afternoon wore on, it was obvious I was out of luck on the celebrity side but all was not lost as the kids practicing their incredible parkour skills at Bondi captured my attention.

So, using the late afternoon light on a stunning Sydney early spring day, I took these photos with my Canon EOS 5D lense Canon EF 24-105  Flash Metz 58 AF 1. All were shot at 100 ISO and hit with fill flash to allow the backlight.

So, though the weekly mags would not get any warm fuzzy celeb family pics that day from me to help me pay the bills, I did end up with a selection of interesting shots of some very acrobatic kids.

The day prior to Father’s day though, it was a different story. I had received a tip, went for a little run on the motorbike and pulled $500 for 10 minutes work. I had caught Russell driving away after looking at a new mansion in Darlinghurst. I jumped the fence, had a bit of a laugh at the fact that the paparazzi had apparently found his new residence before he had, before taking a few photos of the house he would never live in.
